Chemometrics-based evaluation on the effect of sonication, contact time and solid-to-solvent ratio on total phenolics and flavonoids, free fatty acids and antibacterial potency of Carica papaya seed against S. enteritidis, B. cereus, V. vulnificus and P. mirabilis

This study was aimed at extraction optimization of antibacterial agents from Carica papaya seed against S. enteritidis, B. cereus, V. vulnificus and P. mirabilis as affected by sonication-assisted (SAE), contact time (CT) solid-to-solvent ratio (SSR). The principal component analysis (PCA) individual evaluation approaches identified that no SAE, 8 CT 1:10 SSR were the best treatments with highest potency. PCA CT, 1:5 second-beat treatment. yield, total phenolic compound (TPC), C18:1n9t C16:1 free fatty acids (FAs) in treatment inhibited growths while C21:0 C15:0 30 min 1:2 enteritidis growth. TPC, FAs, C6:0 C24:1n9, C20:1, C4:0 C20:0 FAs had antagonistic effects on growths. C21:0, C15:0, C13:0, C23:0, C11:0 also denoted MIC50 MIC0 a higher variation than MIC; hence, former variables better to use PCA.
